I am here to advocate for the many who have moved away from our area in Central NY and who long to be reaquainted with the area. If it were up to my husband, we would have been back years ago but there never seemed to be a right time. We were having too much fun where we were, my oldest son was in college, and our middle son was just born. We figured we had a few more years before he started kindergarten and we would revisit our thoughts on moving back to NY in the future. After our daughter was born and our oldest son graduated college and moved back to CNY, we dicided now was the right time. We are very happy with our decision and made a promise to each other that when it is 0 degrees and 3′ of snow we will have no regrets!
Within my blog you will read about:
-Adults on the autistic spectrum. I feel there is alot of research to be done in the field to assist those on the spectrum that can live on their own, go to college, drive cars, have a spouse and children and travel. Some may view them as having “residual autism” (a term rarely used anymore) and say they are “cured” but to the contrary they are not “cured” and continue to need services but on a different level. These folks can use help balancing their checkbook, they need social groups to attend because they need friends, they need someone to check on them periodically to be sure they are living a healthy lifestyle, they can use a Mentor to help guide them in their post college career paths and they can use an advocate throughout college. These are just a few issues that I can come up with because I have been through it myself with my son and I can forsee what he will need in his future.
-Donate to our Trust Fund to assist Adults on the Autistic Spectrum. And become involved in our Realtor Connection program where we donate our commission dollars into the Trust Fund.
-Our CNY adventures with our family as well as any upcoming family friendly events.
-Our nights “out on the town” and anything I find interesting about our area.
-You will find area rentals on our site to help people who are moving back find a place to live. I found very little web presence for homes available to rent during our own searches. And the quality of the ads I found to be not very descriptive with not the best quality of phots if any.
-You will find many links on my blogs to help promote area businesses and events. I hope you find my blog useful, entertaining and help you to appreciate the area we live in as much as I now do. Please feel free to tell others you “read about it on Rediscovercny.com”
Thanks and make it a great day!
